Catacomb Bracelet
Catacomb Bracelet
The catacomb bracelet is reminiscent of times gone by. It features a continuous line of small aging skulls, drawing inspiration from the catacombs of Paris. It can serve as a piece of modern day memento mori. Each hand sculpted and fabricated bracelet is cast in sterling silver, patinated to darken the recesses, finished by hand, and strung on incredibly strong and elastic rubber strands. The beads can freely rotate around the inner elastic as the bracelet is worn. The elastic used is repeated several times and each strand is made up of hundreds of individual fibers. If one breaks, it won't fall apart. If you ever need it re-strung, I will gladly do it for free (this has yet to happen!). Slight variations will naturally occur.
Memento mori (translated simply as "remember death") as well as mourning jewelry were most popular in the 17th through 19th centuries to remind us of the natural progression of life. It was meant to keep the idea of death as something not to fear; a reminder to live life to the fullest in order to stay happy until the very end, and sometimes a commemoration of a life that has already passed.
It pairs perfectly with our Catacomb Ring or Necklace.

Buff with a polishing cloth from time to time as needed or preferred. Sterling silver will naturally develop more patina and character over time depending on factors such as skin contact, burnishing, and natural wear. It is a very easy material to take care of!
